Editorial & Corrections Policy
Last updated: 28 August 2026
Daevilmedia is committed to publishing content responsibly, accurately and in the public interest.
This policy explains the standards we aim to follow when producing news, commentary, investigations, opinion and public-interest content, and how we handle corrections, complaints and requests for a response.
1. Our editorial approach
Daevilmedia publishes content relating to:
- news
- politics
- social issues
- investigations
- public-interest matters
- commentary and opinion
- child protection and online safety
We aim to distinguish clearly between:
- established facts
- allegations
- opinion
- commentary
- developing information
Where information is uncertain or unproven, we aim to make that clear.
2. Accuracy
We aim to take reasonable steps to ensure that factual claims are accurate at the time of publication.
This may include:
- checking original sources
- comparing multiple sources
- reviewing documents or records
- considering relevant context
- seeking clarification where appropriate
- updating information when new facts emerge
We do not guarantee that every article will remain permanently accurate, particularly where events are developing.
3. Allegations and unproven claims
Where Daevilmedia reports allegations, accusations, investigations or claims that have not been proven, we aim to use language that reflects their status.
We will not knowingly present an unproven allegation as an established fact.
Where appropriate, wording may include terms such as:
- alleged
- reportedly
- suspected
- according to
- claimed
- under investigation
A criminal charge, arrest, investigation or allegation does not in itself establish guilt.
4. Opinion and commentary
Daevilmedia may publish opinion, analysis and commentary.
Opinion content may include strong views, criticism and interpretation.
Where appropriate, opinion will be presented in a way that makes clear that it is commentary rather than an established factual finding.
5. Sources and evidence
We may rely on a range of sources, including:
- official records
- court documents
- public statements
- social media content
- screenshots
- video
- witness accounts
- public databases
- journalism and reporting from other organisations
Where possible, we aim to assess the reliability and relevance of information before publication.
Anonymous or confidential sources may be used where there is a legitimate reason to protect their identity.
6. Right of reply
Where serious allegations are made about an identifiable person or organisation, Daevilmedia may seek comment or offer an opportunity to respond where appropriate and practical.
A response may be:
- included before publication
- added after publication
- summarised within an article
- published separately where appropriate
A person does not automatically have the right to dictate how their response is presented.
7. Corrections
If we identify a material factual error, we aim to correct it as soon as reasonably practical.
Corrections may include:
- changing inaccurate wording
- updating figures or dates
- adding missing context
- correcting names or descriptions
- clarifying the status of an allegation
- removing information where appropriate
Minor spelling, grammar or formatting corrections may be made without a formal correction notice.
Material changes may be acknowledged where appropriate.
8. Updates
Articles may be updated when new information becomes available.
This may include:
- developments in an investigation
- arrests or charges
- court outcomes
- official statements
- new evidence
- corrections
- additional context
Where appropriate, the article may state that it has been updated.
9. Complaints
If you believe content published by Daevilmedia is inaccurate, misleading, unfair or requires correction, you can contact us.
Please provide:
- the URL or title of the content
- the specific statement you are concerned about
- why you believe it is inaccurate or unfair

- the correction or clarification you are requesting

We aim to review complaints fairly and in context.
10. Removal requests
Daevilmedia does not automatically remove content simply because someone objects to it.
Requests for removal will be considered based on factors including:
- accuracy
- public interest
- legal obligations
- privacy
- safeguarding
- relevance
- passage of time
- risk of harm
Content may be amended, anonymised or removed where appropriate.
11. Safeguarding
Where content involves children or vulnerable people, additional care may be taken regarding:
- identifying information
- images
- personal details
- allegations
- risk of harm
- ongoing investigations
The protection of children and vulnerable people may outweigh other editorial considerations where appropriate.
12. Legal and ethical considerations
Daevilmedia aims to publish lawfully and responsibly.
Relevant considerations may include:
- defamation
- privacy
- contempt of court
- copyright
- data protection
- safeguarding
- harassment
- reporting restrictions
Content may be delayed, amended or removed where necessary to reduce legal or safeguarding risk.
13. Independence
Daevilmedia aims to maintain editorial independence.
Where content is sponsored, paid for or subject to a commercial relationship, this should be disclosed where required.
Daevilmedia does not currently publish paid advertorial content.
14. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated from time to time as the website develops or editorial practices change.
The latest version will always be published on this page.
