Copyright & Content Use Policy

This policy explains how content published by Daevilmedia may and may not be used.

Daevilmedia is operated by Phil Battye, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom.

1. Ownership of content

Unless otherwise stated, original content published on Daevilmedia is owned by or licensed to Daevilmedia.

This includes, where applicable:

  • articles
  • written commentary
  • graphics
  • original images
  • website design elements
  • branding
  • logos
  • downloadable guides
  • videos
  • social media content created by Daevilmedia
  • other original materials

All rights are reserved unless this policy or another notice specifically says otherwise.

2. Sharing Daevilmedia content

You are welcome to share links to Daevilmedia articles, pages and resources.

You may also quote short extracts from Daevilmedia content where lawful and appropriate, provided that:

  • the extract is not misleading
  • the original meaning is not distorted
  • Daevilmedia is clearly credited
  • a link to the original content is provided where practical

You may not reproduce substantial portions of Daevilmedia articles or other original content without permission unless permitted by law.

3. Free parent guides

Daevilmedia makes certain child-safety and parent resources available free of charge.

Unless otherwise stated, these guides may be:

  • downloaded
  • printed
  • shared with parents, carers, schools, community groups or other organisations
  • distributed free of charge for non-commercial educational or safeguarding purposes

These guides must not be:

  • sold
  • placed behind a paywall
  • altered in a misleading way
  • rebranded as another person’s or organisation’s work
  • used commercially without permission
  • presented in a way that suggests endorsement by Daevilmedia where none exists

Daevilmedia branding and attribution should remain intact when guides are shared.

4. Commercial use

Daevilmedia content may not be commercially reproduced, republished, sold, licensed or incorporated into paid products or services without prior written permission.

This includes use in:

  • paid courses
  • commercial publications
  • subscription services
  • merchandise
  • commercial websites
  • paid training materials
  • advertising campaigns

Permission may be granted on a case-by-case basis.

5. Images, graphics and branding

Daevilmedia logos, branding, graphics and original imagery may not be copied, altered or used in a way that:

  • implies an official connection with Daevilmedia
  • suggests endorsement
  • impersonates Daevilmedia
  • misleads users
  • damages the reputation or identity of the brand

You may not create a substantially similar logo or brand presentation intended to confuse people about its connection with Daevilmedia.

6. Social media content

Daevilmedia may republish or embed content originally posted through its own social media accounts.

That content remains subject to this policy unless otherwise stated.

Sharing Daevilmedia social media posts through the normal sharing tools provided by the relevant platform is permitted.

Downloading, reuploading or republishing substantial original Daevilmedia content elsewhere may require permission.

7. Third-party material

Not everything appearing on Daevilmedia is necessarily owned by Daevilmedia.

The website may sometimes refer to or display third-party material, including:

  • social media posts
  • screenshots
  • public statements
  • quotations
  • news footage
  • court or official material
  • externally produced images or documents

Copyright in third-party material remains with its respective owner.

Where third-party content is used, it may be used for lawful purposes such as reporting, criticism, review, commentary, evidence or public-interest discussion.

Nothing in this policy grants permission to reuse third-party material.

8. Fair dealing and legal rights

Nothing in this policy is intended to restrict rights that exist under applicable copyright law.

UK copyright law may permit limited use of copyrighted material in certain circumstances, including purposes such as:

  • quotation
  • criticism
  • review
  • reporting current events
  • parody or pastiche
  • research or private study

Whether a particular use is lawful depends on the circumstances.

10. Copyright concerns and takedown requests

If you believe content published on Daevilmedia infringes your copyright, contact us with:

  • your name and contact details
  • identification of the copyrighted work
  • the URL of the Daevilmedia content concerned
  • an explanation of why you believe the use is unauthorised
  • evidence that you own or are authorised to act for the rights holder

11. Unauthorised use

Daevilmedia reserves the right to take appropriate action where original content is:

  • copied without permission
  • commercially exploited

  • used to impersonate Daevilmedia
  • redistributed contrary to the permissions in this policy

12. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as Daevilmedia develops or its content and resources change.
